Riverpro™ is a monofilament non-absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of a strand of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. Polypropylene sutures are clear or dyed blue.
Characteristics
- Uniform diameter of the suture
- Maximum flexibility of the strand
- Excellent security with snug and flattened knots
- Minimal memory and reduced fraying
- Consistent knot strength
Indications
Riverpro™ suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use is cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgery.
Actions
Riverpro™ suture elicits a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture of fibrous connective tissue.
Tensile Strength
Riverpro™ sutures are nonabsorbable and no significant change in strength retention is known to occur in vivo.
Sterilization
Ethylene oxide.
Packaging
Riverpro™ is a nonabsorbable monofilament. It is clear or dyed blue (Copper Phthalocyanine Blue (2-)). It is available in (USP) sizes 10-0 through 5 (metic sizes 0.2-7).
